We instructed them to remove us as patients, and that We were canceling the contract that they imposed upon us, preventing other DR from providing pain management.
On Friday January 22nd, We had to cancel our appointment due to inclement weather. I was standing next to my wife, when she read back the new appointment date and time over the phone (8:30 am on 01/25/16). We arrived, and signed in at 8:15 am, and were informed by the rude staff that we would not be seen, due to arriving late to our appointment. They claimed our appointment time was 8:00 am, and they do not see patients that arrive late. There was no reasoning with this person, that the mistake was on their end.
This is worst experience we ever had with a physician! She told my husband- after we had been referred to her by the Veterans Clinic doctor that my husband "was shopping for drugs- needed psychiatric care and she was done with him"! She does this to many people I have since found out- and she needs to be reprimanded by the NC Medical Board. My husband is 40 year retired 100% disabled veteran so he has lots of problems- she just doesn't want to take care of him or anyone else. Why is she even in practice! DO NOT go to see her unless you want to be insulted and pay for tests not needed.
My family member had a horrible experience with the staff. The staff appears to be rude and obnoxious. They violate HIPAA violations by screaming your private information throughout the lobby. One person who works there by the name Christina/Kristina was noted to be very rude while yelling and screaming, which can be a very dangerous thing to do! This is really upsetting and unfortunate situation. When people experience pain they are already in distress and it should not be exacerbated by the staff at your doctor’s office. Although they are rendering a service, you have the right to go elsewhere. You are a customer. At the end of the day you still have to pay them. I would suggest that before you dedicate yourself to a medical practice do your homework. I know it may be an extra 20 or 30 minutes to go another city or state, but it is worth it to be treated with dignity and respect. I called and spoke to the office manager who appeared to not be really concerned. As I read the other reviews I see that this practice has a history of this behavior. I wonder if Dr. Gorr has any idea that she has individuals running her practice into the ground!
Dr. Gorr has helped me greatly in the past 1 1/2 years. My pain has not been fully controlled, and may never be, but she has been tenacious in trying to relieve it. The staff has been courteous and helpful.
Their waiting staff treat patients with contempt. We were never seen by the same DR or assistant twice, so there was no continuity of service. You literally had to explain your situation to the new assistant at every appointment. After seeing many other patients treated poorly by the waiting room staff, We knew one day it would be our turn.
No complaints about Dr. Gorr, however, her billing clerk, Jessica, is beyond the pale in rudeness. Will never go back. Why Dr. Gorr keeps someone like her on staff remains a mystery to me.
