I was hospitalized here for a few days for a broken ankle. They had to do surgery and kept me a couple days. They put two plates and a number or screws to fix it. The surgery went very well and I couldn’t have asked for a better surgeon. I felt comfortable while I was there. All the nurses and doctors were nice and informative. I was taken to Chowan first and they were going to put me, stretcher and all, in the waiting room. So the ambulance took me to Albemarle because they had a room/bed for me. I’m very glad that I ended up going to Albemarle because everything went amazing.
I was recently hospitalized for a stroke. The 3rd floor nursing staff is fantastic and do everything possible to make you feel comfortable and secure. Food service staff is respectful and do everything possible to ensure you are happy with your meal! Imaging staff treated me exceptionally well. My entire experience was a positive one in a time of despair. Major improvements within the past year!!! I thank all who treated me!!! You are fantastic at your jobs!
All doctors, nurses and staff have excellent bedside manners however professionally they do not know what they are doing. Patients are at risk. Doctors and Cardiologist do not see the patient in a timely fashion.
I can't believe the ignorant / emo / ghetto people leaving reviews for these poor overworked healthcare professionals. I'll bet that not a single one of the ones complaining has bothered to pay their bills or even say thank you but were quick to run there crying for help, probably repeatedly.
It is not an ER's job to figure out what is wrong with you. They are purely to keep you alive until your regular doctor can be seen. Get insurance and go to a real doctor if you want care for chronic conditions or to figure out the mystery long term illness plaguing you. If you have a stroke or heart attack, go to this place that's what its actually there for, not for your silly non life threatening aches and pains. Stop leaving whiny bad reviews because "UR SO MAD THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT UR PAIN". Google reviews are not Twitter or texts, you can use real words here. People in pain seek real medical attention from primary doctors and are persistent in pursuing ways to relieve their pain by figuring out its source and treating it. People who run to the ER for pain and never go to their main doctors are either a) stupid or b) drug addicts or c) lonely for attention or d) too poor because they don't work. None of those reasons is an acceptable reason to neglect proper care of your health if you care about yourself.
If you want people to take your reviews serious and not just see you as crybabying, learn to type in complete sentences and use proper grammar or keep your negativity and biased opinions to yourself.
The Hospital was dirty. They shut down elevators without notice or signs to let you know it's down. The place is very unorganized. Doctors and Nurses were great in the day. The night nurses are like Nazi Germany. Were going to Kick my 8 yr old and I out because they say but couldn't prove to me they had a policy preventing anyone under 18 from staying the night because kids run the halls. I called her out then she said it was because they don't have room for them. Called that out then said she could stay. Horrible. I bet they bully alot of people.
